Stylish roller coaster ride at Linnanmäki amusement park (Helsinki, Finland)

IKITOMU went for a nice roller coaster ride on this classic wooden oldtimer that was built in 1950. While there certainly are wilder rides (even Linnanmäki has many), in our minds nothing beats the "Vuoristorata" experience: the smell of tar and old wood, incredible views over Helsinki and the soundscape... yes, it's a great ride. "Vuoristorata" actually has quite an interesting history, too. Check it out at Wikipedia:

[EDIT July 13th 2020] The classic wooden "Vuoristorata" coaster was opened on July the 13th 1951, so it is 69 years old today. All the wooden parts have been replaced roughly five times over the years. Hats off (no pun intended) to the Helsinki's most beloved ride! Hooray!
